Magnum adopts a holistic approach towards being a responsible corporate citizen , and its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives address the multiple segments of the community’s needs, namely in the areas of education, medical, welfare and culture. Recently, CSR Malaysia takes a peek at Magnum Corporation Sdn Bhd’s CSR initiatives and its commitment in making a sustainable community.
MagnumCares’ Signature Community Service projects comprise Education, CNY AngPow Distribution and Home Enhancement Program, “I Can See Clearly Now” Project, Youth Program, Cepat-CepatTolong Program, Community Support Program and Community Engagement Program.
In conjunction with International Charity Day, MagnumCaresorganised the International Charity Day Carnival (ICD Carnival), and has successfully raised RM108,838 for 8 charity organizations; Agathians Shelter, Dignity & Services, Good Samaritan Home, Montfort Boys Town, Nalanda Free School, Spastic Children’s Association, The Community Service Centre for the Deaf and Yayasan Sunbeams Home.
Since the official announcement in April 2015, contributions for the carnival sale have started to pour in from supporters and like-minded Malaysians. It is a delight to note that the original target was hit 3 weeks ahead of the Carnival. Overwhelming support from volunteers, Chinese clan associations, Serdang Leo Club and Boy Scouts have helpedmade ICD Carnival a successful event. Among the notable representatives were those from the Canadian Association of Malaysia who participated and volunteered their efforts during the carnival.
Magnum employees took the initiative to prepare food and make handicraft items for sale and manned the stalls set up during the event. Some 3,000 people attended the charity event and among them were approximately 300 employees of Magnum who worked very hard to make a success of the International Charity Day fundraising event.
