70% Of Malaysian Public Listed Companies Are Involved In CSR Activities

CSR Malaysia, a not-for-profit social enterprise division in RHA Media recently carried out a survey on engagement of Malaysian public listed companies in corporate Social responsibility activities.  The survey was carried out by way of calling these companies to find out whether they are involved in CSR in one way or another.

The findings of the survey indicated that 70% of the companies surveyed are carrying out CSR activities either for the benefit of their own employees or the communities in which they operate. Some 30% of the respondents disclosed that they are not doing anything significant in real CSR terms.

This survey findings was shared by the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail in her speech at the recent CSR Malaysia Awards 2018 held in Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur.

CSR Malaysia Awards 2018 was organized by CSR Malaysia, which is also an aimed at providing a meaningful platform to highlight, promote and encourage Corporate Social Responsibility, or CSR, endeavours in this nation.

The recipients of these awards have been selected by a panel of high caliber judges representing corporate and social bodies. 34 Malaysian companies; listed and private were honored, recognized and awarded for going the extra mile to reach out to needy communities and to engage in sustainability endeavours in efforts to create a better Malaysia.
