Educoop’s inaugural Didik Golf Tournament 2024, held at Danau Golf Club, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), was a significant success, marking a milestone for Koperasi Pendidikan Swasta Malaysia Berhad (Educoop) by merging the elegance of golf with a noble cause. The event drew a diverse group of participants aged 14 to 79, including ambassadors and VIPs, highlighting its global significance.
The tournament’s name, ‘Didik,’ reflects Educoop’s dedication to education, aiming to support underprivileged children through fundraising. Educoop plans to establish it as an annual event, fostering collaboration between the education and golfing communities. The event attracted amateur golfers, especially those linked to the education sector, promoting camaraderie within Malaysia’s education industry.
Ambassadors’ involvement underscored the global importance of Educoop’s mission, emphasising international solidarity in supporting underprivileged children.

Shashikumar claimed first place, with Somasundram Krishnan taking second and Pulendran Shanmugam securing third. Shashikumar’s determination led to his triumph, inspiring admiration and setting a high standard for aspiring golfers.

In the B Medal Category, Thana emerged as the champion. Koh Min Court secured second place, followed by Lee Yeong Tay in third. Their impressive performances highlight dedication and talent, inspiring golf enthusiasts worldwide.

The distinguished guests who excelled in the VIP category included the champion, H.E. Mr Aung Soe Win, Ambassador of Myanmar; H.E. Air Chief Marshall Sumangala Dias, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka securing second place and Dato R. Rajendran who claimed third place. Additionally, H.E. Ardasher Saeedjaafar Qodiri, Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Malaysia, graced the event with his presence.

In the ladies’ category, Mellvinna Nair Presnath clinched the championship title, Faidah Rashid secured second place, while Khartini Yaakop earned third. These remarkable women inspired with their determination on the golf course.
The event concluded with an appreciation ceremony recognising sponsors’ indispensable support. Educoop expressed profound gratitude, acknowledging their role in achieving the event’s objectives.
The tournament successfully raised RM38,000 from sponsors, which will significantly support underprivileged children’s educational needs. Ms. Vijaya Letchumi, Chairman of Koperasi Pendidikan Swasta Malaysia, presented a mock cheque to CSR Malaysia, amplifying the event’s impact.
