Iltizam Relief Society, in collaboration with UniKL and MBSA, successfully conducted two impactful Free Market programs in Shah Alam this December, bringing essential relief to 500 beneficiaries, predominantly from the Asnaf community. These events provided crucial food items, including rice, onions, garlic, vegetables, chicken, and fish, to vulnerable individuals. The initiative aligns with Iltizam’s mission to foster sustainability and social equity, while supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 2: Zero Hunger.
The first event, held on 1st December in collaboration with UniKL at Masjid As-Solihin, Padang Jawa, reached 200 beneficiaries. This successful event was made possible through the unwavering support of volunteers and local partners.
The second event, conducted on 8th December in partnership with MBSA at Dataran
Kemerdekaan, Shah Alam, catered to 300 beneficiaries, including special guests from Pusat Jagaan Sayang, a home for children with special needs. This heartwarming event not only provided much-needed assistance to the Asnaf community, but also created an inclusive and joyful atmosphere for the children, who were treated to engaging activities and warm hospitality.
“We are grateful for the collaboration with UniKL and MBSA in making these events a success,” said Rafiq Ravi, Head of Project at Iltizam Relief Society. “Our goal is to continue providing these free services and support to the local community, ensuring that no one is left behind in times of need. We also extend our deepest thanks to all donors, partners and individuals who contributed directly and indirectly to the success of this initiative!”
Iltizam Relief Society acknowledges the pivotal role played by both partners: UniKL, for their dedication in supporting the event at Masjid As-Solihin, and MBSA, for mobilising resources and ensuring a seamless execution at Dataran Kemerdekaan.
Both events highlight the transformative power of community collaboration and the impact of sharing resources to support those in need. Inspired by this success, Iltizam is committed to organizing similar Free Market programs across other regions in Selangor in 2025.
