Great Heart Charity Association, in collaboration with Focus Point through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, successfully organised the Hari Komuniti programme at PPR Pekan Batu, Kuala Lumpur and Flat Bukit Piatu, Melaka, uplifting the lives of 300 underprivileged individuals and families through free eye check-ups and grocery aid.

The initiative, aimed at promoting the importance of eye health while also easing the financial burden of families in need, brought hope and practical support to the communities. A total of 300 beneficiaries received professional eye examinations sponsored by Focus Point, while 150 grocery packs were distributed at each location, reaching a total of 300 families across both states.

In Melaka, the event was held at Dewan Perpustakaan Negeri Melaka and was graced by YB Adam Adli, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, and YB Khoo Poay Tiong, Member of Parliament for Kota Melaka. Both leaders expressed strong support for grassroots initiatives that combine healthcare awareness with tangible social aid.

“I’m so happy to receive a free eye check-up today. I’ve been having vision issues for a while but couldn’t afford a proper test. Thank you to Great Heart and Focus Point for bringing this to our community,” said a grateful beneficiary in Kuala Lumpur.

This meaningful programme underscores Focus Point’s commitment to giving back through impactful CSR efforts that address real community needs particularly in preventive healthcare.

“We believe good vision is essential for a better quality of life. Through this partnership with Great Heart, we’re glad to make a difference in these communities and raise awareness about regular eye check-ups,” said Lucas, a representative from Focus Point.

The Hari Komuniti event not only served immediate needs but also fostered community engagement and awareness reminding everyone that small acts of care can lead to big impacts.
