Beneficiaries Experience Magic at Elmina Lakeside Mall’s 1st Anniversary Swiss Dream Circus Gala

Aug 14, 2025 | CSR Stories

The Elmina Lakeside Mall’s first anniversary celebration lit up the night with a spectacular Swiss Dream Circus Gala, made extra special for 125 children and caretakers from local welfare homes including beneficiaries from Great Heart Charity Association (GHCA) who were treated to an unforgettable evening of wonder and joy.

The exclusive, invitation-only gala was graced by Her Royal Highness Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, Queen of Selangor, and marked the start of a month-long festival of arts, culture, and community events by Sime Darby Property.

The unforgettable evening was made possible through Sime Darby Property’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, which sponsored the circus tickets to ensure underprivileged children could share in the celebration.

The Swiss Dream Circus troupe thrilled the audience with more than two hours of breathtaking performances from high-flying aerial acts and gravity-defying stunts on the Wheel of Death to mesmerising quick-change tricks and live music. The international team of 14 performers, led by world-famous clown Misha from Cirque du Soleil, brought cheers and applause throughout the night.

For many of GHCA’s beneficiaries, it was their first-ever circus experience. “We are truly grateful to Sime Darby Property for making this possible. Beyond the dazzling lights and incredible acts, it was about creating a happy memory for children who rarely get such opportunities,” said Fenny, GHCA Executive.

The evening also highlighted the importance of working together to make arts and entertainment accessible to everyone. GHCA, which serves underprivileged communities across Malaysia, thanked Sime Darby Property for their generosity and commitment to giving back through CSR efforts.

The Gala Night also opened the doors to 27 public circus shows from 2 to 24 August, alongside Elmina Lakeside Mall’s anniversary festivities, which run until 1st of September. Visitors can look forward to a range of activities including the Monopoly Run, Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival, Merdeka Eve celebrations with music and fireworks, and family-friendly attractions like hot air balloons and lakeside fun.
