Since its launch in October 2025, the Emzee Football Club B40 Development Programme has continued to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young footballers in Johor. What started with 35 boys and girls has today grown to over 50 B40 children between the ages of 6 and 17, all receiving free structured football training three times weekly as part of the club’s commitment to community development through sports.
The programme, which operates with the approval and support of Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS), was created to ensure that talented and passionate young players from B40 families are not denied opportunities due to financial limitations.
Emzee Football Club strongly believes that talent exists everywhere, but opportunity does not. This programme was designed to bridge that gap.
More Than Football Development
While football development remains the core of the programme, Emzee FC places equal importance on character building and personal development. The club focuses on teaching discipline, teamwork, respect, leadership, and responsibility both on and off the field.
Coaches work closely with players to instil discipline and punctuality, teamwork and communication, respect for coaches, teammates and opponents, confidence and positive attitude and personal responsibility.
The positive impact has not gone unnoticed. Parents have increasingly shown strong support, regularly attending training sessions and becoming active supporters of their children’s development journey.
One Team, One Family Philosophy
Although the initiative focuses on B40 families, Emzee FC operates a non-segregation policy. Players in the programme train together with fee-paying academy players, ensuring that all children develop together in a unified and professional environment.
At Emzee FC, every player is treated equally regardless of background.
This approach has helped create strong team unity, healthy competition, confidence among B40 players and a true football family environment.

Since the start of the programme, the club has already begun seeing encouraging results both developmentally and competitively.

- U8 Champions – Maribola Cup
- U8 Champions – Supa 7 Copa de Johor
Competition Participation
- U14 finished 13th in the Premier Division of the Supa 7 Copa de Johor
- U12 currently competing in Liga Suparimau Johor District
- U16 currently competing in Liga Suparimau Johor District
These achievements reflect the effectiveness of the club’s development structure and the rapid improvement of players within the programme.
Creating Pathways to Higher Level Football
As part of Emzee FC’s long-term player pathway structure, selected young talents — including several players from the B40 programme — are now being given exposure opportunities to train within the club’s senior development environment. Some have even been identified for participation opportunities connected to preparations for the upcoming JBFA Division 1 League.
This reflects Emzee FC’s belief that ability and commitment — not financial background should determine opportunity.
Community Impact and Future Vision
The growth from 35 to over 50 B40 participants within months demonstrates the strong need for structured grassroots programmes in the community. Emzee FC remains committed to expanding the programme while maintaining quality coaching and mentorship standards.
The club aims to continue expanding B40 participation opportunities, creating football education pathways, supporting youth through sport, partnering with organisations aligned with youth development and providing competitive exposure platforms.
