More than 140 came together for a meaningful cause as EWRF Malaysia successfully concluded its 3rd EWRF Charity Treasure Hunt, raising RM100,000.00 to support education and mentoring programmes for underprivileged and at-risk students across the country.
The event saw teams flag off from Midlands Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, before completing a series of clue-based challenges along the scenic route to Ipoh, Perak. Participants concluded the adventure at Kingston Hotel, Ipoh, where a prizegiving dinner celebrated the winners and acknowledged sponsors, volunteers and supporters who made the event possible.
Team Armchair Hunters emerged as the overall champion of the treasure hunt, taking home the Grand Prize of RM3,000 after successfully navigating the clues and challenges throughout the route.
Funds raised from the event will support EWRF Malaysia’s flagship initiatives, including:
- Language for Juniors (L4J) – a programme aimed at strengthening Bahasa Melayu and English proficiency among primary school pupils from the B40 families.
- Civil Society Intervention Plus (CSI-Plus) – a five-year coaching and mentoring programme supporting secondary school students who are at risk of dropping out.
Additional proceeds will contribute to mental health awareness initiatives, free counselling services, as well as welfare and medical assistance for families from the B40 community.
The event was graced by YBrs Dr Indran Muniandi, representing YB Tuan M. Kulasegaran, alongside Mr. Muthamil Chelvan, President of EWRF Malaysia, and YBrs Dr. Loganathan Krishnan, Deputy General Secretary and Organising Chairman of the 3rd EWRF Charity Treasure Hunt 2026.
EWRF Malaysia acknowledged the support and participation of its central committee members, branch leaders, dedicated participants, corporate sponsors and generous donors, whose contributions helped make the event a resounding success.
“This treasure hunt is more than just a recreational event; it is a collective effort by individuals, families and organisations who believe in the power of education to transform lives. The funds raised will allow us to continue supporting children who need guidance, mentorship and opportunities to remain in school and build a brighter future,” said Mr. Muthamil Chelvan.
All contributions to EWRF Malaysia are eligible for tax relief, and the organisation’s accounts are externally audited and published in its annual report, ensuring transparency and accountability.
