Through the Biocon Malaysia Volunteer Community (BMVC), a variety of impactful social initiatives have been developed and implemented, including employee volunteer programmes. These initiatives aim to enhance community involvement in the region where we operate.

Biocon’s collaboration in corporate social responsibility with Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK), a non-profit organisation established in 2008, demonstrates our dedication to supporting the homeless and urban poor, regardless of their background. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to philanthropy and assisting those in need. Together with KSK, we have engaged in various volunteer activities, such as providing food to the homeless and collecting surplus food from supermarkets for redistribution to individuals or charitable organisations in need, effectively reducing food wastage.

Moreover, Biocon has contributed by donating essential dry provisions to KSK’s food bank and assisting in their distribution to marginalised communities before expiration. These meaningful engagements not only bring fulfilment to Biocon Malaysia Volunteers but also offer them valuable personal and professional growth opportunities through interactions with a diverse range of community members. Some volunteers choose to involve their children in these activities to expose them to societal dynamics, enabling them to learn through first-hand observation.

By focusing on practical charitable endeavours collaboratively, we can make a positive difference in underserved communities in our country. This approach provides our employees and partners with the chance to participate in significant volunteer activities, both directly and indirectly.
