Biocon Malaysia volunteers joined forces in a collaborative initiative spearheaded by environmental activist Dharma, with support from the Pengerang Municipal Council, to clear over 730 kilograms of waste from the shorelines of the Tanjung Balau waterway in just two hours. This effort is not merely a cleanup; it underscores the urgent need for united action in environmental conservation. The significant amount of debris, especially single-use plastics, serves as a stark reminder of the hurdles we encounter in safeguarding our natural environment.
To achieve a sustainable future, proper plastic disposal and a reduction in usage are crucial. Biocon Malaysia is taking proactive steps to tackle this issue by increasing awareness and encouraging behavioral changes, having organized six beach cleanups that have collectively eliminated more than 1.9 tons of single-use plastics from the coastlines.
