Changing Lives, One Volunteer At A Time

Jan 29, 2021 | CSR Stories

As a society, it is our duty to do what we can for those who are not as fortunate as the rest of us and in doing so, we can make a difference over time. Even the single act of one volunteer is enough to leave a lasting effect on the lives of many.

Take for example, Mr. Mohd Hosni Shamsir, who is no stranger to charitable initiatives himself. Upon receiving a request from a close friend and teacher at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Anggerik, located in Shah Alam, to donate electronic tablets to her students, he jumped at the chance to do what he could. He managed to gift 10 tablets to the students, much to their elation.

The kind acts don’t stop there though. A regular volunteer at the Food Aid Foundation, Mr. Hosni Shamir enlisted their help to also provide a total of 18 students and their families with provisions, filling the vicinity with a sense of gratefulness that one person would go so far if it means bringing joy to others.

The Food Aid Foundation is a non-profit organization is a food bank dedicated to reducing food waste often accumulated from manufacturers and distributors as they are unused or unwanted, which then collected and distributed to underprivileged communities, welfare homes and soup kitchens.
