Daikin Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a leading air conditioning manufacturer, has taken a bold step towards reducing carbon emissions and tackling climate change. In line with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources’ (KeTSa) 100 million trees campaign, Daikin organised a CSR tree planting activity at FRIM Kepong. The event saw 40 participants from Daikin Malaysia and Daikin Research & Development Malaysia plant a total of 40 seedlings consisting of 10 different species. Additionally, the company donated 1,000 plants to MPS, showing its commitment to promoting a sustainable environment.

This CSR initiative is in keeping with Daikin’s culture of engaging in sustainable activities that increase corporate value. By planting trees, the company hopes to improve the resilience of ecosystems, offset carbon dioxide, and provide better air quality and life quality for future generations.

The importance of planting trees cannot be overstated, especially in the face of climate change. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, one of the primary greenhouse gases responsible for global warming, and release oxygen into the atmosphere, purifying the air. As a responsible corporate citizen, Daikin Malaysia’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility is commendable, and serves as an example for other companies to follow.
