On February 22, 2024, an engaging and informative talk took place in connection with the ESG TALKS series by CSR Malaysia in collaboration with Institut Mayang. The talk, titled “Creating a Green Team in the Company” provided an informative platform that enlightened participants on the significance of establishing a Green team within organisations and how it contributes to sustainable development goals.
The talk, attended by 40 participants representing PLCs, MNCs and SMEs, was led by esteemed speakers Ts Dr Khairil Anwar Razali, ESG Specialist at Institut Mayang and Lee Seng Chee, Co-Chairman of CSR Malaysia. Throughout the session, participants were introduced to the concept of a Green Team in an organisation and its crucial role in fostering environmental sustainability within the corporate world. Participants gained insights into the fundamental aspects of establishing and nurturing a successful Green Team, along with the myriad benefits it can bring to their respective organisations.
A highlight of the discussion was the exploration of the “Agenda Pembangunan Mampan 2030,” which emphasises reducing greenhouse gas emissions and accelerating green growth. Moreover, the speakers shed light on the sustainability journey, explaining concepts such as carbon footprints and greenhouse gas calculations. Understanding these metrics is crucial for organisations aiming to mitigate their environmental impact and embrace sustainable operations practices.




One of the main points highlighted was the identification of five crucial stages necessary for reducing carbon emissions and realising objectives related to sustainable development. These steps will provide a comprehensive framework for organisations to navigate their sustainability endeavours effectively, ensuring alignment with global sustainability targets.
