Every Step Counts, Every Vision Matters: L’OCCITANE Malaysia’s Race for Vision Initiative

Oct 21, 2026 | CSR Stories

L’OCCITANE Malaysia’s Race for Vision continues to bring together eye health, inclusion and community action. The 7th edition welcomed more than 3,000 participants, including visually impaired runners who completed the 5KM route alongside dedicated Sighted Guides, creating an experience built on trust, accessibility and connection.

The annual charity run contributed RM50,000 to fully support the launch of the Schoolchildren Refractive Error Intervention Programme in Kelantan, in partnership with Hospital Pakar Universiti Sains Malaysia. The programme aims to help schoolchildren with uncorrected vision problems access timely eye care, supporting their confidence, learning and participation in everyday life.

Since its launch in 2018, Race for Vision has grown into one of L’OCCITANE Malaysia’s key purpose-driven platforms. Together with its broader vision-related initiatives, the brand has contributed RM1.75 million over 17 years in Malaysia, positively impacting nearly 100,000 lives through eye health, accessibility and community empowerment.

The event also reflected L’OCCITANE’s global purpose of Crafting Life Ties through meaningful connections between people. Visually impaired participants from the Malaysian Association for the Blind and Society of the Blind Malaysia ran alongside sighted participants, demonstrating how inclusive experiences can bring communities closer together.

Adding an environmental dimension to the event, 3,000 sustainable finisher medals were handcrafted by OKU artisans using 96kg of recycled beauty empties, connecting social empowerment with responsible resource use.

Through long-term partnerships and purposeful action, Race for Vision demonstrates how eye health, inclusion and sustainability can come together to create meaningful impact for people and communities.
