They stared, giggled and whispered, but when they finally got over their shyness, children from the Kompleks Kebajikan Rukaiyah tucked into a feast to remember with TV celebrity Aznil Nawawi.
Thanks to Revive Isotonic and Pepsi’s “Sebotol Minuman, Satu Senyuman” initiative, the children from the orphanage in Kajang not only enjoyed a hearty meal with the celebrity at a Giant hypermarket here, but also left with some cash, goodie bags and enough happy memories to last them for a long time.
For every 1.5L Pepsi or Revive Isotonic sold, 10 sen is donated to a worthy cause. The initiative also gave 20 lucky shoppers at the hypermarket the opportunity to win a feast with Aznil and the children.
Funds from “Sebotol Minuman, Satu Senyuman” will go towards Liter of Light, a humanitarian movement that aims to brighten up villages in last year’s flood-affected areas of East Malaysia and elsewhere in the country with solar-powered water bottle lights. Other activities of the programme include sampling sessions at selected hypermarkets and mosques before Raya.
