To transform Home of Peace’s rooftop area into a beautiful and green garden for the children, IREKA CARES volunteers initiated a gardening project at the Home. This project was a continuation of IREKA CARES’ CSR programme with the objective to promote and educate the children about environmental sustainability following its previous trip to Taman Tugu with the children.
Both volunteers and senior managers attended the event to spend time with the children planting flowers and plants, sharing lunch and generally having some fun time together.
Arrived at the Home around 8.00 am, all the volunteers and chlidren were then split into four teams to start working on the project. After two hours of hard work on digging, raking, diving and repotting plants that are root bound, watering, assembling the garden benches and so on, the area was transformed into a lovely garden.
