It is this belief that has driven the YTL Foundation, in partnership with FrogAsia, to launch KelasKita—an initiative that is committed to giving every child the chance to learn and grow, regardless of where they come from or what they face.
As the YTL Group celebrates its 70th Anniversary with the theme YTL Beyond 70, the principle of Building The Right Thing has never felt more meaningful. This mission is about more than business—it’s about creating a future where every child can unlock their full potential, where education is a right, not a privilege.
Bridging the Gap
Education is meant to be the great equalizer, but for many children in Malaysia, getting the quality education they deserve is still a challenge. In rural areas and among low-income families, many face barriers that seem difficult to overcome. Nearly 40% of children in rural areas still lack access to good education, and many from low-income families struggle with subjects like Mathematics and Science. These statistics from the Ministry of Education Malaysia reveal a reality that no child should face: No one should be held back because of where they are from or their family’s circumstances.
But there is hope. KelasKita offers that hope—an opportunity for change. The programme focuses on Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics and Science. Lessons are also available in most core subjects in the Malaysian national curriculum for primary and secondary school students. With the support of the FrogVLE, KelasKita provides students with access to engaging, interactive lessons and digital learning resources that bring education to life. This platform gives students the freedom to learn at their own pace, whenever and wherever they need it, helping them build the knowledge and confidence to succeed.

YTL Construction’s Commitment: A Unified Effort to Make a Difference
When KelasKita was first introduced, the people of YTL Construction saw an opportunity to make a real impact. It wasn’t just about volunteering—it was about being part of something bigger, something that could change the lives of children and inspire them to believe in themselves. From engineers to lawyers to supporting staff, everyone came together, each bringing their unique skills and talents to help turn this vision into reality.
Suvarna Teoh, one of the volunteers, shared her thoughts on the journey, “In KelasKita, we’re not just teaching. We’re showing these children that they matter. We’re helping them see that no matter where they come from, their dreams are within reach. That’s the power of education—it opens doors, it gives them possibilities they never knew existed.”
For Laila Nur Jawahir Landong, another volunteer, the experience has been life-changing, “KelasKita is more than just lessons. It’s about helping these children achieve things they may have never believed were possible. Every lesson, every moment we spend with them, makes a difference. By providing resources, guidance and support, we’re inspiring them to reach for the stars and dream bigger than they ever thought they could.”
Since 2022, YTL Construction staff volunteers have been dedicating their time to provide daily KelasKita online tuition to underprivileged children, supporting them in subjects like English, BM and Mathematics.

Since its inception, KelasKita has made a profound impact, with YTL Construction playing a key role in reaching out to nearly 200 children from orphanages across Klang Valley and Johor. For YTL Construction, this isn’t just about teaching academic lessons—it’s about offering hope, opportunity and encouragement. Each lesson helps these children realize their worth—they are capable, intelligent and deserving of a bright future.
