LSK Strengthens Its Role in Post-Hospital Homecare Support

Jun 19, 2026 | CSR Stories

Pertubuhan Kebajikan Lifelink Seribu Kasih (LSK) continues to strengthen its role in supporting vulnerable Malaysians through community-based home healthcare assistance, particularly for families facing immense challenges after hospital discharge.

What many people do not see is that recovery at home can often become one of the most difficult parts of a patient’s journey. Families are suddenly expected to care for bedridden loved ones with limited resources, little guidance and without the proper equipment needed for safe and dignified care.

These are struggles that are difficult to truly understand unless one has personally experienced caring for a sick or bedridden family member at home.

Today, LSK is managing close to 100 active assistance applications involving patients and caregivers in urgent need of support. Many cases involve individuals recovering at home without access to proper hospital beds, mobility aids, oxygen support, nutritional supplies, or basic caregiving necessities.

The organisation has seen a growing increase in requests involving:

  • Hospital bed assistance
  • Wheelchairs and mobility aids
  • Oxygen support equipment
  • Adult diapers and nutritional supplies, as well as other medical disposables and consumables
  • Guidance for families managing home care responsibilities

In many situations, families are forced to improvise care arrangements due to financial limitations, often placing additional emotional, physical and financial strain on caregivers already struggling to cope.

Through donations, community partnerships and collaboration with agencies such as JKM WPKL, LSK continues working to bridge these critical gaps by providing practical support that helps families care for their loved ones more safely and comfortably at home.

Supporting many of these efforts behind the scenes is Lifelink Homecare Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian social enterprise and home healthcare provider co-founded by Ms Adrine Lee. Lifelink Homecare specialises in post-hospital homecare support, including medical equipment setup, nursing coordination, caregiver guidance, rehabilitation support, and home-based care solutions for patients requiring continued care after discharge.

Beyond its commercial operations, Lifelink Homecare has continuously supported LSK’s humanitarian efforts by contributing operational expertise, logistical support, technical knowledge, medical equipment assistance and manpower whenever needed, allowing LSK to extend its reach to more underserved families.

As Malaysia faces an ageing population and increasing healthcare demands, LSK believes community-based homecare support systems will become increasingly essential in the years ahead.

Alongside these ongoing efforts, LSK is also proud to acknowledge that its ambassador and long-time homecare advocate, Ms Adrine Lee, was recently recognised as one of the recipients of the Star Golden Hearts Award 2025 (SGHA), an initiative by Star Media Group honouring Malaysians making meaningful contributions to society.

For decades, Ms Adrine Lee has been actively involved in supporting post-hospital homecare and caregiver education, particularly among vulnerable and underserved communities. Her recognition reflects the importance of compassionate, practical, and community-driven support within Malaysia’s broader healthcare ecosystem.

LSK believes this recognition not only honours an individual contribution, but also brings greater awareness to the realities many families quietly face behind closed doors every day.

As the need for homecare support continues to grow, LSK remains committed to expanding its outreach nationwide, strengthening meaningful partnerships, and improving access to essential home healthcare support for more vulnerable families and communities in need.
