OrphanCare hosts heartfelt sharing sessions to support adoptive parents on the joys and realities of adoption.
As part of its commitment to promoting ethical and supported adoption, OrphanCare Foundation recently hosted a sharing session where experienced adoptive parents gathered sharing personal insights, emotional encouragement and real-world advice on their adoption journey.
The event served as a safe, open space for honest dialogue — covering topics from the challenges to bonding with an adopted child, navigating extended family reactions, managing the child’s emotional development over time, including attachment issues and social stigma — but emphasized that with the right support, those challenges became stepping stones to stronger family bonds.
It also featured OrphanCare’s counselling team and child welfare specialists, who provided guidance on post-adoption support services, trauma-informed parenting and maintaining open communication with adopted children.
