UKM MBA Students Donate Laptops to The Malaysian Association For The Blind (MAB) to Empower Visually Impaired Communities

Sep 19, 2024 | CSR Stories

The TULUS Project, an initiative by InclusivePath, donated laptops to the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB) aimed at supporting administrative tasks and empowering visually impaired members. This initiative is part of TULUS’ mission to improve employment opportunities for persons with disabilities (PWDs) through corporate, social ventures and NGO partnerships.

During the handover ceremony, the InclusivePath team met Dr. Lim Tien Hong, Strategy and Placement Unit Manager at MAB, who shared his roles in creating inclusive employment pathways for PWDs. The donation marks a continuation of efforts from the TULUS Project’s recent collaborative workshop, which focuses on fostering collaborations with stakeholders to create inclusive workplaces.

Foo Huey Chyun, Project Director of InclusivePath, said, “This donation is crucial because it not only supports MAB’s administrative operations but also provides members with access to laptops for job applications, upskilling, and professional growth. Many individuals with visual impairments can still effectively use digital devices, including laptops, for functional purposes. By offering these tools, we are helping to ensure that visually impaired individuals, regardless of the type of blindness they experience, have access to the resources needed to thrive in the workforce.”

The laptops will enhance MAB’s internal processes and provide members with the resources needed for job readiness, aligning with the country’s commitment to fostering inclusive work environments.
