The initiative was officially inaugurated by Hj. Zahri bin Hj. Samingon, the Mayor of Petaling Jaya, and was attended by a distinguished group of leaders, including Mohammad Nizar Idris, Chairman of MCIS Life, Prasheem Seebran, CEO of MCIS Life, and LAr. Dr. Badrulzaman bin Jaafar, Director of the Landscape Department at MBPJ. They were joined by senior management from MCIS Life, local government officials, and members of the community, all of whom collectively planted trees to mark the beginning of this important environmental campaign.

The tree planting initiative is not just about planting trees; it’s about planting hope. MCIS Life’s ongoing commitment to sustainability is evident through such efforts, addressing critical environmental challenges such as deforestation and climate change. By planting trees, MCIS Life aims to inspire collective action to protect Malaysia’s natural resources, mitigate the effects of climate change and reduce the carbon footprint.

Prasheem Seebran, CEO of MCIS Life, spoke about the importance of collective responsibility in tackling these global environmental issues. He stated, “Today, as we plant these trees, we are not just contributing to a greener future — we are planting hope. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and ensuring that future generations inherit a planet that is healthier, more vibrant, and more resilient. At MCIS Life, we believe that true progress is rooted in our shared responsibility, not just for the financial well-being of our customers, but for the world we all share.”

The event serves as a reminder of the significant impact small actions can have in improving air quality, enhancing biodiversity and mitigating the effects of climate change. Each tree planted symbolises the collective responsibility among individuals, communities, and businesses to safeguard the planet for future generations.

This tree planting initiative is part of MCIS Life’s broader sustainability goals and its corporate social responsibility efforts. The company’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond this event. Notably, MCIS Life has already made significant strides in preserving Malaysia’s natural heritage through projects like the MCIS Life Legacy Forest at Sireh Park, Iskandar Puteri, Johor, where the company invested RM1 million to plant over 6,000 endemic rainforest trees. This project, which is expected to offset approximately 567 tonnes of carbon by 2029,  MCIS Life’s long-term vision for environmental conservation.

In addition to its environmental initiatives, MCIS Life also places a strong emphasis on health and well-being. Through the MCIS Life Purple Truck, in collaboration with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), the company has been providing free cancer screenings across the country. To date, the MCIS Life Purple Truck has had conducted over 19,000 screenings, helping individuals detect potential health issues early and promoting the importance of cancer awareness and prevention.

MCIS Life’s commitment to both the environment and public health demonstrates its holistic approach to corporate responsibility, where sustainability and community well-being are at the core of its operations. Through these initiatives, MCIS Life continues to build a legacy of positive impact, reinforcing its position as a leader in corporate sustainability and social responsibility in Malaysia.

As the company moves forward, it remains dedicated to driving change and inspires others to join in protecting the planet and improving the lives of individuals in the communities it serves.
