FedEx Malaysia: Delivering Hope, One Act of Kindness at a Time

Oct 15, 2026 | CSR Stories

The FedEx Cares FWS Day of Service brings FedEx team members around the world together to celebrate the spirit of service embodied by Frederick W. Smith, the founder. Held in recognition of what would have been his birthday, the global initiative reflects on his legacy and encourages FedEx teams to give back to the communities where they live and work.

As part of this global initiative, FedEx Malaysia team members came together to support communities in need through volunteering, donations and hands-on service activities.

Giving Back Through Food and Essential Supplies

As part of the Week of Service, FedEx Malaysia team members supported Kechara Soup Kitchen by collecting approximately 246 kg of essential food and necessity items.

The donations included rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour, milk powder, biscuits, canned food, noodles, coffee, tea and cereals. Seven team members contributed a total of 35 volunteer hours to support communities served by the organisation, including underprivileged children, orphans and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The initiative highlighted how everyday essentials can make a meaningful difference to individuals and families facing challenging circumstances.

Bringing Meals, Joy and Companionship to the Elderly

FedEx Malaysia team members also visited Pusat Jagaan dan Rawatan Orang Tua Al-Ikhlas, where nine volunteers dedicated 27 hours to spending time with elderly residents.

The team provided approximately 40 packs of cooked meals, together with goodie bags containing stress-relief plushies and assorted snacks. Beyond providing food and necessities, the volunteers focused on creating moments of connection and companionship through light exercises, karaoke and casual conversations.

The gathering concluded with volunteers and residents coming together to sing a Malaysian Independence song, creating a warm and memorable celebration of togetherness.

Packing More Than 13,000 Meals for Communities in Need

In collaboration with Rise Against Hunger (RAH), FedEx Malaysia team members took part in a meal-packing activity to support families facing food insecurity.

A total of 86 FedEx team members contributed 86 volunteer hours, working together to pack more than 13,000 meals for local Orang Asli communities.

The activity allowed team members to contribute directly to addressing food insecurity while strengthening their connection with communities in Malaysia.

Service in Action

Across these activities, FedEx Malaysia team members contributed a combined 148 volunteer hours, demonstrating the impact that can be created when people come together with a shared commitment to service.

From donating essential food supplies and sharing meals with elderly residents to packing thousands of meals for families in need, the FWS Day of Service provided opportunities for FedEx team members to turn their time and effort into meaningful community impact.

For FedEx Malaysia, the initiative is a reflection of the FedEx Cares commitment to supporting communities and creating a positive impact through service.

By coming together to serve, FedEx team members continue to carry forward the spirit of giving and community connection at the heart of FWS Day of Service.
