CSR Malaysia Pays Courtesy Visit to Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — Pertubuhan Tanggungjawab Kemapanan Dan Korporat Malaysia and the CSR Malaysia publication recently paid a courtesy visit to Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, in a meaningful engagement focused on advancing environmental sustainability initiatives in Malaysia.

Representing the organisation were Dato’ R. Rajendran, Chairman, Lee Seng Chee, Co-Chairman, and Mia Nawawi, Event Director. The meeting served as a platform to exchange insights, strengthen collaboration and explore strategic partnerships between the corporate sector and the Ministry in driving impactful sustainability efforts.

During the discussion, Dato’ R. Rajendran highlighted the increasing role of corporate organisations in supporting national environmental goals. He emphasised the importance of fostering stronger collaborations between businesses and the Ministry to implement sustainable practices, promote environmental awareness and accelerate green initiatives across industries.

The Deputy Minister expressed his appreciation for the continuous efforts of the NGO and CSR Malaysia in advocating responsible corporate behaviour and sustainability. He also provided an overview of the Ministry’s ongoing and upcoming initiatives aimed at environmental conservation, climate action and sustainable resource management, reaffirming the government’s commitment to a greener Malaysia.

Lee Seng Chee further elaborated on the role of CSR Malaysia as a platform to recognise and encourage corporations that demonstrate excellence in sustainability practices. He underscored the importance of awareness, education and recognition in motivating more companies to integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into their operations.

Mia Nawawi also shared insights on upcoming programmes and events aimed at promoting sustainability engagement among stakeholders, including corporate leaders, NGOs and the public.

The visit concluded on a positive note with an exchange of mementos between both parties, symbolising mutual respect and a shared commitment towards building a sustainable future. Both sides expressed optimism for future collaborations that will further strengthen Malaysia’s environmental sustainability agenda.
