On 15th January 2025, CSR Malaysia (Pertubuhan Amal Tanggungjawab Kemapanan Dan Korporat Malaysia), in collaboration with Institut Mayang, hosted an insightful ESG Talk titled “Positioning Your Company Through Sustainability and Measuring Your Sustainability Effort.” The event offered an invaluable platform for businesses to deepen their understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies and their significant impact on both corporate success and societal well-being.
With 50 participants from diverse sectors, including Public Listed Companies (PLCs), Multinational Corporations (MNCs), and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), the session was led by distinguished experts Dr Khairil Anwar Razali, ESG Specialist at Institut Mayang and certified Sustainability (ESG) Practitioner from the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE), and Lee Seng Chee, Co-Chairman of CSR Malaysia.
The speakers discussed the importance of sustainability positioning for businesses, emphasising key areas such as Integrity, Quality, Simplicity, and Visibility—essential factors for establishing a strong foundation for long-term sustainability. The session also explored why measuring sustainability efforts is not just a passing trend, but a vital step for businesses to thrive in today’s environmentally conscious world.
A key takeaway was the exploration of how businesses can position themselves for success through ESG strategies, offering practical insights into how to monitor and measure sustainability efforts effectively. Attendees were provided with actionable frameworks to drive their ESG initiatives and contribute positively to both society and the environment.
