Malaysia’s most outstanding corporations in environmental, social and governance (ESG) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) were celebrated at the 11th Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2026, recognising organisations that continue to drive meaningful social impact while championing sustainable business practices.

Organised by CSR Malaysia, an initiative of Pertubuhan Amal Tanggungjawab Kemapanan Dan Korporat Malaysia, the prestigious annual awards recognised more than 70 listed companies, government-linked companies (GLCs) and private enterprises that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to ESG excellence, community empowerment and sustainable nation-building.

The recipients were selected by an esteemed panel of judges comprising distinguished representatives from corporate, professional and social organisations, based on the effectiveness, impact and long-term sustainability of their CSR and ESG initiatives.

The awards ceremony was officiated by YB Puan Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Malaysia, who presented the awards in recognition of organisations that have consistently uplifted underserved communities while contributing towards Malaysia’s sustainable socio-economic development.

In her address, YB Puan Lim reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to improving the well-being of women, children, families and vulnerable communities through collaborative partnerships.

“As we continue this important journey, we recognise that meaningful progress can only be achieved through collective commitment. The Government welcomes stronger collaboration with corporations, NGOs and various stakeholders in creating a more inclusive, compassionate and sustainable Malaysia,” she said.

Among the distinguished recipients were Western Digital Malaysia, Mah Sing Group Berhad, Watsons Personal Care Stores Malaysia, Yayasan MR D.I.Y., Secret Recipe Holdings, Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad, FedEx Malaysia, Sunway Healthcare Group, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, RHB Banking Group, 7-Eleven Malaysia, McDonald’s Malaysia, KK Super Mart, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Lembaga Zakat Selangor, TNG Digital, Flex Penang, Flex Shah Alam, Petron Fuel International, TRX City, The Hershey Company Malaysia, Malakoff Corporation Berhad, Alam Flora, Ranhill SAJ, Pos Malaysia Berhad, CapitaLand Malaysia Trust, Petrosains, KPS Berhad, and many other leading organisations that continue to set benchmarks for responsible corporate citizenship.

The awards also recognised six exceptional individuals whose leadership has significantly advanced ESG and CSR initiatives across their respective organisations and industries.

Among them was Dr Chandramogan Anamirtham, Senior Vice President of Western Digital Malaysia, who received the ESG Visionary Leader Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership in embedding sustainability into corporate culture and community development.

Dr John Loh, Director of Emerging EPC Sdn Bhd, was honoured with the ESG Impact & Leadership Award for his unwavering dedication to creating positive social impact through various community-driven initiatives. Other distinguished recipients included Datuk Ir. Dr Joseph Heng Weng Long, Managing Director of Victory Recovery Resources, and Eric Ng Chin Kuong, Director of ISP Group.

The judging criteria for the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards encompassed the clarity of purpose behind each CSR initiative, measurable social impact, frequency and consistency of programmes, total corporate contributions, transparency in ESG reporting, innovation in programme implementation, organisational commitment, sincerity and the overall effectiveness of each initiative.

According to Dato’ R. Rajendran, Chairman of CSR Malaysia, ESG has evolved into a fundamental pillar of sustainable corporate success.

“Companies that embrace ESG not only strengthen investor confidence but also improve operational efficiency, customer loyalty, risk management and long-term financial performance. Today, ESG represents far more than environmental responsibility—it reflects ethical governance, social inclusivity, responsible leadership and sustainable value creation,” he said.

He added that businesses should prioritise ESG initiatives that create meaningful impact while remaining practical and scalable, including carbon reduction strategies, renewable energy adoption, employee well-being, diversity and inclusion, responsible governance and community development.

CSR Malaysia Co-Chairman and Managing Editor, Lee Seng Chee, said corporate responsibility has evolved significantly over the years, with ESG now becoming an integral part of long-term business strategy rather than a standalone initiative.

“CSR has progressed far beyond one-off charitable donations. Today, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles are increasingly embedded into corporate strategies, governance and day-to-day operations. Organisations now recognise that sustainable growth depends on creating value not only for shareholders, but also for employees, communities and the environment.”

Held alongside the awards ceremony was the CSR Malaysia Carnival, featuring 24 charitable organisations and foundations. The carnival provided a meaningful platform for corporations to engage directly with NGOs, explore potential collaborations and identify opportunities to extend support towards impactful community initiatives.

During the event, participating companies also presented donation cheques, cash and in-kind, amounting to RM30 million to various charitable organisations, reaffirming Corporate Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to creating positive and lasting social impact.

The Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards continue to demonstrate that today’s leading corporations measure success not solely through financial performance, but through their ability to uplift communities, protect the environment and create shared value for future generations.

As sustainability increasingly becomes central to long-term business resilience, Malaysian corporations are proving that responsible business practices and commercial success can go hand in hand—driving economic growth while safeguarding the nation’s social and environmental well-being.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Y.A.M. Paduka Puteri Tunku Mariam binti Al-Marhum Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj and Tan Sri Faizah Tahir, Patron of CSR Malaysia.

Attended by approximately 800 corporate leaders, policymakers, NGOs and industry stakeholders, the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2026 not only celebrated the remarkable achievements of Malaysia’s ESG champions but also inspired more organisations to embrace sustainability as a core business philosophy and a catalyst for nation-building.
