Matrix Foodbank Drive 4.0: A Holistic Approach to Community Care

Mar 10, 2026 | CSR Stories

On 10 January 2026, Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad continued its commitment to community well-being through the 4th edition of the Matrix Foodbank Drive, held at Arena Square, Seremban. Building on the success and learnings of previous distributions, Matrix Foodbank Drive 4.0 expanded its outreach by integrating basic health screening services, reflecting Matrix’s holistic approach to supporting vulnerable communities beyond immediate food assistance.

Insights from earlier distributions revealed that some recipients were experiencing health issues and faced difficulties accessing medical care independently. In response, Matrix Concepts collaborated with Mawar Medical Centre, alongside long-standing partner Kechara Soup Kitchen, to bring medical support directly to recipients’ homes. The programme provided on-site basic health screenings, including blood pressure checks, pulse rate and oxygen saturation tests, blood glucose testing, visual acuity checks and Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements.

Through this collective effort, 41 underprivileged households across Seremban, Senawang and Ampangan were reached. Each family received RM250 worth of essential items along with daily necessities including 10kg rice, cooking oil, toothpaste, shampoo, detergent and toothbrushes. These items were thoughtfully selected to ensure families received practical, relevant and dignified support tailored to their everyday needs.

More than 100 volunteers from across all business units of the Matrix Concepts Group, joined forces to pack and distribute the aid kits. Working in teams, volunteers carried out door-to-door distributions to recipients’ homes around Seremban, delivering care packages with warmth, empathy and respect. This personal outreach fostered meaningful human connection and Matrix’s commitment to placing people at the heart of its community initiatives.

Matrix Foodbank Drive 4.0 aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17). Guided by its belief in “Matrix for People”, Matrix Concepts remains dedicated to championing initiatives that uplift lives, spread kindness and create sustainable change. While the foodbank drive began with food assistance, its impact extends far beyond basic necessities—bringing hope, dignity and unity to the communities it serves.
