Wasco: Nurturing Healthier Communities through Preventive Healthcare

Apr 15, 2026 | CSR Stories

At Wasco, creating meaningful impact means more than achieving business success – it is about safeguarding an improved quality of life and uplifting the communities it serves. This commitment drives Wasco’s Projek Nutrisi Sihat, a health and wellness-focused social impact project centred on preventive care with better access to essential healthcare services.

Expanding Access to Vaccinations

Through Wasco’s #TeamWasco in Kuantan, Shah Alam, Telok Panglima Garang and Kota Kinabalu, Wasco partnered with Poliklinik Shaik and Medisinar to deliver flu and HPV vaccinations to a total of 266 individuals. The programme aims to strengthen community resilience by reducing flu-related complications while protecting against HPV infections.

The success of this initiative reflects the dedication of #TeamWasco volunteers, who contributed over 180 hours to ensure seamless programme delivery. Their commitment embodies Wasco’s approach to social impact projects: creating sustainable health outcomes that align with the company’s broader Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives.

Bringing Healthcare to Rural Communities

Healthcare access remains a significant challenge for rural populations. Recognising this gap, Wasco partnered with Ivorymedic Clinic’s medical team to bring essential health services to the Orang Asli community in Bukit Gong, Chini, Pahang.

Clinical check-ups and health screening for local communities in Bukit Gong, Chini, Pahang under Wasco’s health and wellness outreach programme

The outreach programme delivered comprehensive health screenings – including blood pressure, diabetes and BMI assessments – to individuals spanning all age groups, from young children to seniors over 60. Beyond clinical check-ups, the team conducted health awareness sessions, emphasising the importance of regular screenings and healthy living, empowering community members to take proactive control of their well-being. Essential groceries and medicines were also distributed to ensure they have adequate resources to maintain their health and well-being. Ultimately, these gatherings reinforce the spirit of care, inclusion and human connection – values embedded at the heart of Wasco’s social impact projects.

Through these initiatives, Wasco continues to champion preventive healthcare and social well-being. These efforts demonstrate what becomes possible when compassion, collaboration and corporate responsibility unite to build healthier, more resilient communities for generations to come.
