Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC) – International Labour Organization (ILO) Occupational Safety & Health Training

Aug 21, 2024 | CSR Stories

MRC formed a strategic partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) to organise an Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) training in the central region in June 2023. This training is part of a series of safety and health programmes aimed at enhancing workplace safety and well-being. The discussion focused on industry members’ understanding of OSH international and national standards, good work practices in OSH management in the rubber industry, and the capacity enhancement of OSH committees within the rubber industry.

A total of 43 participants from 23 companies attended the one-day training held at Alila Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. This awareness training improved workplace safety by helping participants recognise hazards and enhancing compliance with regulatory requirements while increasing productivity.

Overall, OSH training is a crucial investment in both the safety of employees and the overall success of the organisation. Its benefits are far-reaching, impacting everything from day-to-day operations to long-term strategic goals.
