A Meaningful Anniversary Celebration
Starbucks Malaysia celebrated its 17th Anniversary with 17 NGOs consisting of orphanages, shelter homes and other charitable organizations. There were parties for the children, customers, local personalities and partners. These nationwide parties organised in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor, Penang, Sabah and Sarawak saw magicians, musicians and other entertainers adding much life and excitement for the children and guests who attended.
Towards Physical & Financial Wellness

Raising Awareness On Diabetes
In conjunction with World Diabetes Day, Pantai Hospital Klang (PHK) organised its first community cycling event, “Pantai Blue Ride 2015”. The event came with the theme “Act Today! Fight diabetes!” and was held to raise community awareness in combating diabetes and related high-risk conditions. Over 1,100 cyclists gathered outside Big Mall Shopping Centre for the flag-off. The cyclists completed a 20km-route around Klang and Pandamaran areas. Supporters who were gathered to cheer the riders had the opportunity to enjoy free health screening and health consultation sessions.
Brightening Their Day
KFC Malaysia recently made a special KFC delivery to RumahBaktiDato’ Harun in Ampang and brought joy and smiles to some 40 underprivileged children. The occasion was made all the more merrier by Malaysia’s renowned celebrity couple SchaAlyahya and AwalAshaari who delivered the food, as well as being the hosts at the party. The children were treated to a magic show, singing and dancing performances before tucking into a generous spread of KFC meals with their guardians and all the KFC team members present.
Joyous At Ioi City Mall
Recently, one hundred and one children from three orphanage homes; Rumah Syafiyyah, Rumah Yatim Sri Sai Selangor and House of Love were treated to a joyful day at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya hosted by the IOI Group in conjunction with the recent Christmas celebrations. Besides the exciting animal rides provided by Zoo Mov, the children have received numerous complimentary giveaways in the form of colourful balloons, fancy towels and many others.
Breaking the Chain Of Violence
The All Women’s Action Society (AWAM) held its third White Ribbon Run at Padang Merbok in Kuala Lumpur recently. The event attracted some 1,000 participants and they successfully brought home the point that gender-based violence (GBV) and violence against women (VAW) are not solely women’s rights issues rather human rights issues that all should be involved in addressing them. The event’s theme “The Story of a Generation” provided the platform for men and boys of all ages and walks of life to come together to break a “Chain of Violence”, symbolising the breaking down of the violence and varying burdens that women have to deal with on a daily basis.

Most Orang Asli communities live in remote and less developed parts of Peninsular Malaysia. The funds raised will be used to assist with community development and upliftment, non-formal education of women and children, leadership training, securing the Orang Asli’s livelihood, and strengthening their traditional culture.
